Criminal case opened after bus accident in Leningrad region

The case was initiated after an accident with a bus in the village of Vartemägi, Leningrad region, which resulted in the death of one person. This was reported in the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on December 31.

According to the agency, the accident injured six passengers of the route bus, including one child.

"On this fact, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Leningrad region initiated a criminal case under Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements")", - stated in the message of the department in the Telegram-channel of the department.

The fatal accident became known earlier in the day. Then the source of "Izvestia" reported that the deceased is the driver of a passenger car. The footage from the scene shows that the bus flew into the ditch after the accident, and the passenger car caught fire.
