Ukraine called Russian troops' fiber-optic FPV drones a huge problem

Russian fiber-optic FPV drones have become a big problem for the Ukrainian army, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Kirill Budanov (listed as a terrorist and extremist in Russia), said on December 31.
"The Russians have gone en masse to use drones with cables. This is what they call fiber optics. Yes, this is a huge problem for us now," - quotes his words "RBC-Ukraine".
According to Budanov, this technique cannot be stopped by means of electronic warfare. He called Russian drones of this type "know-how and trend of the year".
Earlier, on December 19, military expert Yuri Lyamin told Izvestia that the Russian Defense Ministry officially adopted the Ptitselov drone detector developed by volunteers. This happened in less than six months, which means a significant acceleration of processes in this area, the expert noted.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
