The AFU lost more than 445 soldiers on the Kursk direction over the day

The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Kursk direction amounted to more than 445 servicemen over the day. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday, December 31.

"Over the day the losses of the AFU amounted to more than 445 servicemen, an armored personnel carrier, 13 armored combat vehicles and 22 vehicles were destroyed," the ministry said in a statement.

In the course of offensive actions, units of the "North" group of troops defeated the enemy in the areas of nine settlements in the region: Daryino, Kurilovka, Leonidovo, Loknya, Maryevka, Makhnovka, Nizhny Klin, Novaya Sorochina and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye.

In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost more than 45.9 thousand soldiers, 262 tanks, 143 armored personnel carriers and 1.2 thousand vehicles.

Earlier in the day, an Army aviation crew on a Ka-52M helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group struck an air strike with an aircraft at an AFU temporary deployment point in a border area of Kursk Region.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
