Moscow arrests RAS adviser Solovyov in fraud case


Izmailovsky district court of Moscow has arrested Vasily Solovyov, advisor of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), in a case of especially large-scale fraud. This follows from the data published on the official portal of courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.
The man is accused of committing a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").
Soloviev was remanded in custody until February 6, 2025.
Earlier, on October 21, Eduard Fedin, head of the organizational and methodological department of the 13th psychiatric clinical hospital, was detained in Moscow for fraud. The man is accused of embezzlement of 600 million rubles. A criminal case was opened against the detainee under part 3 of article 159 ("Fraud committed by a person using his official position").
