Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov on December 31 congratulated the country's servicemen on the coming New Year. In his address, he said that Russia's cohesion and unity make the country invincible.

"The year 2024 is coming to an end. It will be remembered not only for feats of arms and military achievements, but also for the demonstrated resilience of our fighters, who have endured many trials. On the battlefields of Donbass and Novorossiya they demonstrate exceptional heroism and bravery, give their best for the peaceful future of our country," the Minister said.

He expressed great gratitude to the servicemen, their families, as well as to all those who help in the special operation: volunteers, volunteers, employees of enterprises, emphasizing that unity makes Russia invincible.

Belousov reminded that 2025 in Russia was declared the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. He congratulated the servicemen on the coming New Year, wished them health, happiness, fulfillment of wishes and a speedy victory.

Earlier, on December 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared the next year, 2025, the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. The decision was made in honor of the participants of the Special Military Operation (SMO) and in memory of the feats of all ancestors. The head of state added that the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland will be established in glory of fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers who crushed Nazism.
