The mayor of Odessa reported explosions in the city

There were explosions in Odessa in Ukraine amid an air alert. This was reported by the mayor of the city Gennady Trukhanov on Tuesday, December 31.

"Explosions are heard in the city!" - he wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to the Ukrainian online map of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, an air alert has been declared in the Odessa region.

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian media reported about explosions in Kiev. It was specified that the air alert was announced in Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnitsa, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovograd, Chernihiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions.

Russian forces in October 2022 began striking military facilities and related energy and communications facilities in Ukraine. As Russian President Vladimir Putin explained, this was a response to the Kiev regime's terrorist actions.
