The traffic police urged drivers to replace licenses expiring in 2022

Russians need to replace driving licenses in the coming year, which expired in 2022 and then automatically extended. This was reported on December 31 by TASS with reference to the traffic police.

The agency reminded that the owners of invalid rights will need to pass a medical examination, pay the established state duty and get a new license, applying to the traffic police.

It is noted that the consideration of the decision on the automatic extension of driver's licenses is carried out only in the territory of the Russian Federation.

In April 2022, the validity of driver's licenses, the term of which is about to expire, was extended for three years. Similar rulings were adopted in 2023 and 2024. Thus, drivers whose driver's licenses were extended automatically in 2022 for three years, in 2025 must replace the certificates.
