Court recognizes Panin's sentence in absentia for justifying terrorism as lawful

In absentia sentence to actor Alexei Panin (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent and included in the list of extremists and terrorists) was recognized lawful. This was reported on December 31 "RIA Novosti" in the military court of appeal.
"The verdict was left unchanged," - said the interlocutor of the agency.
It is specified that the actor is accused of public justification of terrorism.
Earlier, on September 26, it became known that the Second Western District Military Court sentenced in absentia actor Alexei Panin to six years of general regime colony. He is also banned from administering Internet resources for three years.
In May 2023 Panin was declared wanted. The actor often expressed opinions discrediting the Russian Federation and the special operation to protect Donbass. In February, the Gagarinsky district court of the capital arrested the actor in absentia on charges of calling for terrorism (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It was noted that the period of detention is two months from the moment of his extradition or deportation to the territory of the Russian Federation or from the moment of his actual detention in the country.
