The Ministry of Internal Affairs named the largest amount transferred to fraudsters for the year

The largest amount, which an individual transferred to fraudsters, amounted to about 180 million rubles. The press center of the Russian Interior Ministry told TASS on December 31.

"This year, the damage from embezzlement committed with the use of information and communication technologies against an individual amounted to about 180 million rubles," the Interior Ministry said.

It is specified that couriers were not used in this fraud scheme. In addition, as indicated in the Interior Ministry, the criminals began to focus on the involvement of victims in the sale of movable and immovable property, in the registration of loans and credits in microfinance organizations.

Earlier, December 30, the Interior Ministry reported on the activation of telephone scammers before the New Year. It is specified that at first fraudsters deceive to force to take a loan and give them the money. Then, when the victim tries to return the funds, the fraudsters convince her that she is involved in a covert operation to catch them, and under this pretext force her to commit a crime. In the end, the victim, who wanted to get her money back, is herself accused of committing a serious crime.
