Putin speaks about the development of relations between Russia and Turkmenistan


Relations between Russia and Turkmenistan are successfully developing in the spirit of deep strategic partnership. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 31.
"Relations between Russia and Turkmenistan are successfully developing in the spirit of deepened strategic partnership. Bilateral trade turnover is showing positive dynamics, promising joint projects in industrial, transport, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres are being implemented," the government newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan quoted Putin's letter of New Year greetings to his colleague Serdar Berdimuhamedov as saying.
According to the Russian leader, the leaders of both countries will continue constructive dialog and consistent work on the bilateral and international agenda. Putin noted that this fully meets the interests of the friendly peoples of Russia and Turkmenistan, as well as ensures security and stability in Central Asia and the Caspian region.
Putin also wished Berdimuhamedov and his relatives good health, well-being and success, as well as happiness and prosperity to all citizens of Turkmenistan.
Earlier, on October 11, Putin at a meeting with Chairman of the Upper House of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, former leader of the republic Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan is developing successfully. The Russian leader also drew attention to the good relations with the current President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. According to him, the two states will do their best to develop trade and economic projects, relations through parliaments and interregional ties.
