On December 31, doctor-dietitologist, head of the network of clinics of nutrition and reflexology Mariyat Mukhina told about how not to overeat at the New Year's table.

"In any salad the most evil is the sauce, because mayonnaise is very caloric, so it is necessary to replace mayonnaise sauces with non-caloric ones. Also in all salads replace pickles with fresh ones, potatoes with apples, boiled beets - better with raw carrots, and canned peas with fresh-frozen ones. We change sausage for meat: breast or beef," she said in an interview with Sputnik radio.

The expert added that it is better to prepare a baked dish rather than a fried one for a hot meal. And salted fish, according to Mukhina, should be made at home, not bought ready-made.

"To do this, the fish should first be frozen, and only then salted just a little, as if salting, so that it is low-salted. For salads, you can soak it in milk for two to three hours so that all the salt comes out," - specified the nutritionist.

The nutritionist also emphasized that the main calories we get with alcohol, so after it should immediately drink a glass of water or juice to "dilute the calories and fill the stomach". In addition, the expert advised to move more during the celebration.

"Well, and one more lifehack - fill the New Year's holiday with some kind of activiti, so that you do not sit at the table all the time and do not get full. It can be anything - contests, dances, games and so on, the main thing is not to sit in one place," Mukhina explained.

She also added that one should not sit down at the table hungry, as it leads to overeating. According to the nutritionist, even on holidays should be a normal breakfast, a full lunch and dinner.

Earlier, December 30, freelance nutritionist of the Department of Health Antonina Starodubova said that the least caloric among the traditional New Year salads are "Mimosa" and herring under a fur coat. She added that the traditional New Year's Eve salad Olivier has a high content of saturated fats and dietary salt.
