Russian Deputy Defense Minister fulfills New Year's wish of a boy from the Moscow region

Army General Viktor Goremykin, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, took part in the All-Russian charity event "Christmas Tree of Wishes" and fulfilled the wish of nine-year-old Timofey from the Moscow Region town of Shatura to visit the Patriot Park. The Russian Defense Ministry publishes the footage on December 31.

"My phone rings the other day, and I hear that it's from the Defense Ministry. My spouse is on duty, I, of course, my heart jumped. And then they say that your wish from the letter we wrote on the Christmas tree will be fulfilled. I ran to tell them, I didn't even believe it at once", - shared Timofey's mother Tatyana Afanasyeva.

Timofey's excursion around the park began with the historical part of the exposition, where unique samples of armored vehicles, artillery and other weapons from different countries are presented. The boy was able to try his hand at driving a tank and a helicopter on simulators. He also learned how to shoot in the shooting range from hunting-holstered historical and modern small arms and passed an obstacle course in the center of military-tactical games.

"We thank our kind wizard Victor Goremykin. Thank you very much for the fulfillment of the wish of this young warrior of the future. May all children's dreams come true," said Timofey's mom.

Goremykin, after chatting with the family, congratulated them on the coming New Year and presented them with memorable gifts from the Russian Defense Ministry and "Yunarmia".

"Good luck, prosperity, all the best. Believe in your dream, it will come true!" - he said.

Earlier, on December 30, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov spoke by phone with the children of military servicemen - participants of special operations (SVO), whose balloons with New Year's wishes he took off the Christmas tree as part of the all-Russian charity campaign "Christmas Tree of Wishes".

The action "Christmas Tree of Wishes" has been held since 2018. Children from three to 17 years old who find themselves in a difficult life situation can take part in it. You can fulfill the children's wishes with the help of the project's website. The organizer of the action is the Russian movement of children and youth "Movement of the First".
