Russian Armed Forces fighters told about the liberation of the Novotroitskoye settlement in the DNR

Soldiers of the 15th Independent Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Center Group of Forces have reported on the liberation of the village of Novotroitskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). The footage was published by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 31.

"The commander called me, said: we need to repel, this is the last part of the enemies. I gathered an escort group, six people, we walked about 2 km to the place. Under the full command of commander Yarov escorted quickly, clearly, we got to the stronghold," shared the commander of the squad, Private Igor Kiselev.

He also said that the Ukrainian fighters tried to evacuate from their positions, but the Russian military prevented them from doing so. Platoon commander Private Mikhail Metlitsky noted that the ways of entering Novotroitskoye were chosen so that the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) did not notice the movements of the Russian Armed Forces military.

"Everyone was brought in without losses, we have beaten back hangars, houses, on the western street already. We have completely taken this settlement. We raised the flag over it," company commander Lt. Maxim Mashin added.

The Russian Defense Ministry noted the bravery and selflessness of the fighters who continue to liberate the territories of Donbass.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the liberation of the settlement of Novotroitskoye in the DNR on December 29. The ministry added that the losses on the part of the AFU amounted to 480 Ukrainian military, three BMPs, five armored combat vehicles, five pickup trucks and a Polish self-propelled artillery unit Krab, a D-20 gun, Msta-B and D-30 howitzers.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
