A Ka-52M helicopter struck an AFU temporary deployment point in the Kursk border area

An Army aviation crew on a Ka-52M helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group struck an air strike against a temporary deployment point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 31.
In the course of the combat mission to support the units of the "North" group of troops, the pilots of the army aviation destroyed the temporary accommodation point and personnel of the Ukrainian militants. After that, the crews performed anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude with the firing of heat traps to prevent enemy man-portable surface-to-air missiles. The forward air gunner confirmed the destruction of all AFU targets.
On the eve of December 30, it was reported that crews of Su-35S Su-35S multipurpose super-maneuverable fighters with controlled thrust vectoring of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) carried out air cover for VKS crews in the border areas of the Kursk Region. In addition, with the help of the aircraft's aviation weapons complex, the aircraft detected the air defense (air defense) facilities of the AFU.

The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway. In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction the enemy has lost more than 45.5 thousand servicemen.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
