An apartment building was damaged as a result of a rocket attack on L'gov by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on December 30 by acting head of Kursk Region Alexander Khinshtein.

According to him, the gas supply in the damaged house was temporarily cut off. It is noted that the residents preferred to disperse to relatives.

"As a result of the AFU rocket fire, one eight-apartment two-story house was seriously damaged, all residents were offered to be accommodated in a TAC, but they preferred to settle with relatives. Windows were broken out in a number of houses and walls were slightly cut," Hinshtein wrote in his Telegram channel.

As a result of the attack of Ukrainian militants, an 86-year-old woman was injured, whose legs were cut by shards of glass in her apartment. She has been given medical assistance, the Kursk region's acting head added.

"Two power lines were damaged due to the shelling. Power engineers were forced to de-energize two streets. By now, light has been restored in most households," Khinshtein noted.

In addition, he said, as a result of the shelling there was a minor fire in two buildings, which has already been eliminated by the Emergency Situations Ministry.

On the AFU strike on Lgov in the Kursk region Hinshtein reported earlier in the day. The regional government also noted that in the sky above the region were destroyed four Ukrainian missiles.

Before that, on December 26, it became known that the AFU shelled civilian objects and infrastructure of Lgov. On the same day, Hinshtein reported four dead as a result of the strike. Five more people were hospitalized, with one of the women in serious condition. The deputy governor noted that in the city was deployed operativstaff of the government of the Kursk region. A criminal case has been opened over the incident.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
