Media reported about Zurabishvili's removal of state protection in Georgia

Former Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili was deprived of state protection, Mtavari Arch TV channel reported on December 30.
According to its information, the relevant law was signed by the new president Mikhail Kavelashvili.
Protection of the head of state, Prime Minister and Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia was previously provided for a year after the termination of their powers.
According to the amendments, the protection will not be maintained if the Constitutional Court of the country confirms their violation of the basic law while in office. At the same time, last year the Constitutional Court of Georgia recognized that Zurabishvili violated the Constitution with uncoordinated foreign visits.
The day before, Kavelashvili was inaugurated as Georgia's new president. Zurabishvili, who did not recognize the election results, left the presidential residence and told supporters that she intended to take part in a protest rally on New Year's Day and visit a number of countries.
On December 14, the country held presidential elections, which were won by Kavelashvili, the Georgian Dream candidate. After that, Zurabishvili refused to leave her post and threatened to "overthrow the regime" if no compromise is reached on the parliamentary elections, the results of which she also does not recognize.
