Rublev and Khachanov reached the quarterfinals of the Hong Kong doubles tournament

Russians Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov on December 30 defeated their South Korean and Hong Kong rivals Ji Sung-nam and Coleman Wong at the doubles tennis tournament in Hong Kong.

In two sets of the 1/8 finals the athletes won 6:1, 6:4.

Rublev and Khachanov will face India's Yuki Bhambri and France's Albano Olivetti and will fight for a place in the semifinals. The Russians will start the singles tournament from the second round. Rublev remains the reigning singles champion of the Hong Kong tournament.

The prize fund of the tournament is more than $760 thousand.

Earlier, on November 13, Rublev suffered his second defeat at the final tournament of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in Turin, losing to Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz. The winner of the tournament was Italian tennis player Yannick Cinner.
