Putin established presidential scholarships for athletes and coaches


Russian President Vladimir Putin has established presidential scholarships for athletes and coaches in the amount of up to Br60 thousand. The decree of the head of state was posted on December 30 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"To establish a scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation to citizens of the Russian Federation, who have high sports results or contributed to their achievement", - stated in the text of the document.
There is a quota for the issuance of 4 thousand scholarships, the amounts of which - from 25 to 60 thousand rubles - depend on the category.
Champions and medalists of the Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic Games, winners of all-Russian and international tournaments and a number of other categories of athletes, their coaches and specialists of the national teams of the Russian Federation will be able to claim for payment.
Earlier, on December 16, Putin presented state awards in the Kremlin to the winners of the Summer Paralympic Games in Paris. Swimmers and track and field athletes were awarded the Order of Honor and the Order of Friendship. The head of state also said that the Russian medalists of the Games would receive an additional bonus of 3 million rubles.
