Su-35S fighter jets provided cover for VKS crews in the Kursk border area


Crews of Su-35S super-maneuverable multi-purpose fighters with controlled thrust vectoring of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) provided air cover for VKS crews in the border areas of the Kursk Region. The Defense Ministry showed footage of the combat mission on December 30.
Fighter crews practiced air cover in the area of operations of bomber and attack aircraft and helicopters of the army aviation in the course of strikes on military and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
In addition, with the help of a complex of aviation weapons, the aircraft detected objects of air defense (air defense) of the AFU.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that an Army aviation crew in a Ka-52 helicopter launched a missile strike on AFU personnel and a stronghold in a border area of Kursk Region. A forward aviation spotter confirmed the destruction of all targets.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway. In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction the enemy has lost more than 45.5 thousand servicemen.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
