Acting President of Abkhazia Badra Gunba promised to make efforts to strengthen relations with Russia. This was reported by his press service in Telegram on December 30.

"The Republic of Abkhazia will continue to make efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, preserve stability and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest," Gunba said in congratulating Russian President Vladimir Putin on the upcoming holidays.

In addition, the acting head of state expressed gratitude for Russia's support in overcoming the energy crisis in Abkhazia.

Earlier, on December 25, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that Russia expects Abkhazia to fulfill its investment commitments within the framework of agreements with Moscow, including harmonization of the legislation of the two countries on the issue of investment.

Prior to that, on December 23, Abkhazia's First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy and Transport Dzhansukh Nanba said that Russia had started humanitarian supplies of electricity to the republic.
