Residents of the Lovech region in Bulgaria went on a protest action in connection with the lack of electricity and together with the local authorities blocked traffic on the Sofia-Varna road. This was reported by Bulgarian TV channel BNT 1 on December 30.

"The protest action is organized by the Association of mayors and deputy mayors of settlements in the municipality of Lovech," the publication said.

It is specified that the protesters sometimes let passing cars pass.

According to the article, the country is on the sixth day of the crisis and, despite the fact that the power supply has been restored somewhere, there are still areas where the work to eliminate accidents continues.

The mayor of Lovech and his administration plan to file a class action lawsuit against the electricity distribution company. In addition, they will demand compensation from the state.

Earlier, on 23 December, it was reported that protests may start in Moldova because of the difficult energy situation in the republic due to the termination of gas transit through Ukraine.
