Russia has received a rare opportunity to study the US M1A1 Abrams tank captured in Ukraine almost undamaged. This was reported by the US specialized publication Military Watch Magazine (MWM) on December 30.

It is specified that Uralvagonzavod specialists will analyze the device of the captured tank to collect intelligence data.

The value of Abrams lies in their wide use. According to the publication, only in the United States there are more than 4 thousand vehicles in service or in storage, representing the backbone of the country's armored forces.

Earlier, on December 13, a Russian serviceman, a drone operator with the call sign Rassvet, told Izvestia about his experience of destroying the first Abrams tank during a special operation. He also noted that the enemy is not standing still and is also ramping up its production.

In early November, trophy Western equipment from the special operation zone was presented in Kursk. Most of the exhibits included weapons transferred to the AFU by the North Atlantic Alliance countries. For example, these are American armored combat vehicle (ACV) Stryker, military vehicle HMMWV M1151A1 and Turkish anti-mine ambush vehicle BMC Kirpi.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
