The anti-diversion boat Grachonok joined the Northern Fleet


Anti-diversion boat of Project 21980 "Grachonok" has joined the Northern Fleet. This was reported in the press service of the association on December 30.
"In the main base of the Kola Flotilla of mixed forces of the Northern Fleet - Polyarny, a solemn ceremony of hoisting the Russian Navy flag on the new anti-diversion boat of Project 21980 "Grachonok" took place," the report says.
Thus, with the hoisting of the St. Andrew's flag the boat officially joined the forces of the detachment to combat underwater sabotage forces and means of the Northern Fleet.
The event was held under the leadership of Oleg Gladkiy, Chief of Staff of the Kola Flotilla of Multi-National Forces. He congratulated the crew of the boat and traditionally wished it "seven feet under the keel". The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the flotilla headquarters and servicemen of the Polarny garrison.
As noted in the press service, earlier "Grachonok" successfully passed a number of tests in the Polar Region.
The boat crew has already started practicing course tasks. According to Gladky, the service of "Grachonok" to the association will begin as soon as possible.
The task of the anti-diversion boat "Grachonok" is to fight against underwater sabotage forces and means to support the actions of combat swimmers in the waters of the basing point and on the approaches to it. It can independently stay at sea for up to five days with a range of up to 200 nautical miles.
Earlier, on December 27, the Defense Ministry said that the Project 885M Yasen-M nuclear-powered submarine cruiser Arkhangelsk entered the Russian Navy (Navy).
