- Peskov pointed out that there are no prerequisites for the end of the conflict in Ukraine

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday, December 30, that there are no signs pointing to the imminent end of the Ukrainian conflict or any of its phases.
"No," Peskov replied to a related question from RIA Novosti.
Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is not satisfied with US President-elect Donald Trump's plans to freeze the conflict in Ukraine and Kiev's rejection of NATO membership for 20 years.
Prior to that, on December 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin told journalists that Russia was seeking to end the conflict in Ukraine, not to freeze it. The head of state commented on the information about the possible end of the conflict in 2025 with a Russian proverb: "That is what they say among our people, yes, you should drink honey with your mouth".
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
