In China, laying of the world's longest tunnel Tien Shan Shengli has been completed. This was reported by the Chinese TV channel CCTV on December 30.

"After 52 months of strenuous construction, one of our country's landmark projects to accelerate the construction of a transportation center, the Tianshan Shengli Tunnel, was completed today," the publication said.

The opening of the tunnel will allow drivers to reduce the time of crossing the Tien Shan Mountains from several hours to about 20 minutes. The length of the construction is 22.13 kilometers.

The tunnel passes through the Tien Shan Mountains dividing the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region into northern and southern parts. It connects Urumqi city and Yuili county.

According to Xinhua Agency, the tunnel is planned to be opened for use in 2025.

Earlier, on December 10, it was reported about the opening of traffic on a new bridge in Primorsky Krai across the Zolotaya River, leading to the checkpoint Pogranichny on the border with China. Its length is 175.6 meters.
