FIDE has changed the dress code rules at the World Blitz Championship

Arkady Dvorkovich, President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE), has announced the relaxation of dress code rules at the World Blitz Championship (WBC). The corresponding statement was published on the website of the FIDE press service.
"I have decided to try an approach that will give more flexibility to FIDE officials in judging the suitability of clothing," Dvorkovich said.
The document emphasized that the official dress code will still apply at the World Cup, but small deviations are allowed. For example, matching jeans with a jacket.
FIDE President hopes that "no one will try to undermine the festive mood, including by abusing this additional flexibility".
Earlier, on December 28, it became known that the International Chess Federation (FIDE) disqualified Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen at the World Championship in Blitz and Rapid due to violation of the dress code. The reason for the chess player's suspension was jeans, in which he came to the next day of the competition.
The day before, on December 27, Russian chess player Jan Nepomnyashchy was fined $200 because of inappropriate dress code at the World Blitz and Rapid Championships, which took place in New York.
