The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) do not have enough time to clean up the bodies of the dead. This was stated by Irish journalist Chay Bose on December 29.

"Ukraine's high-ranking Ukrainian officers are finally admitting that they don't have time to remove the dead from the battlefield as Russia's unstoppable offensive continues on all fronts," he wrote on the X network (former Twitter).

Bose called what is happening a tragedy for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term expired on May 20, and European Commission (EC) head Ursula von der Leyen.

He also took umbrage that, despite the numerous losses, Kiev is not talking about possible peace, but about more money.

On this day, DNR head Denis Pushilin pointed to unsuccessful counterattacks by the AFU near Krasnoarmeysk. Pushilin added that fighting continues in Chasovy Yar and in the area of the bus station. At the moment, Russian troops are occupying more favorable positions.

Earlier, on December 28, the Associated Press reported on demoralization in the ranks of the AFU due to the impending defeat of Ukrainian fighters in the Kursk region. The piece notes that some commanders complain about difficult conditions and low morale. At the same time fighters doubt not only in the decisions of the leadership, but also in the very purpose of the occupation.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
