Two people killed when a light-engine plane crashes in UAE


A light-engine airplane belonging to the Jazirah Aviation Club crashed off the coast of the emirate of Ras al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates, killing two people. This was reported on December 29 by the Emirati news agency WAM with reference to the UAE Civil Aviation Authority.
"The airplane belonging to the Al-Jazeera air sports club crashed in the sea waters off the coast of the emirate of Ras al-Khaimah, the crash killed its pilot and his companion", - stated in the message.
The competent authorities are investigating to determine the causes of the crash. The General Directorate of Civil Aviation expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
Earlier in the day it was reported about the crash of the airplane of the airline Jeju Air in South Korea during landing at the airport of Muang. According to the airport administration, the plane crashed while landing on the fuselage due to landing gear failure, failing to shed speed. 179 people were found dead at the scene. Two flight attendants survived the crash. The country declared seven days of national mourning in connection with the crash.
