Fifty piles were installed under the support of the future Lena Bridge in Yakutia

In Yakutia, 50 bored piles have been installed under the support of the future Lena Bridge, thus completing the works planned for 2024. This was reported to IA YakutiaMedia by the Lena Bridge Directorate.

"In the harsh climatic conditions of Yakutia, the VIS group has fulfilled the announced plan for 2024 for the installation of bored piles of the Lena Bridge, 50 piles with a length of 10 meters and a diameter of 1.5 meters each have been arranged," the directorate told the news agency.

In total, the creation of the bridge across the Lena River will require the installation of 920 piles under 26 supports. Three supports will be located in the river bed, the other 23 - on the banks. According to the project, the central support alone will require 208 piles up to 27 meters deep.

For the time being, on both banks of the Lena River, work camps and production workshops at the technological sites continue to be set up. The builders are preparing for the next season, when the work will be carried out directly in the river bed.

The construction of the bridge across the Lena River began in October 2024, and it is planned to be completed as soon as possible - by the end of 2028. The total length of the crossing together with automobile approaches will be 14.5 km, without them - 4.6 km. The riverbed part of the bridge will be 2.6 km.

The bridge will run from the village of Staraya Tabaga (within the boundaries of Yakutsk) to the village of Khaptagai in the Megino-Kangalassky District. Thanks to it, a transportation and logistics hub will be created in Yakutsk, where federal routes will converge: river, air and rail routes, as well as the federal highways "Vilyui", "Kolyma" and "Lena". In the future, the crossing will help create an international transportation corridor between Russia and the Asia-Pacific region.
