One person killed and four injured in a massive road accident on M-5 "Ural"

A foreign car collided with three other cars on the federal highway M-5 "Ural" in the Ashinsky district of the Chelyabinsk region. One person died and four others were injured, the regional State Automobile Inspectorate reports in its Telegram channel.

The accident occurred in the afternoon on Sunday, December 29, at the 1555th km of the road. According to preliminary information, the 64-year-old driver of Nissan Qashqai drove onto the oncoming road and crashed into a Toyota Corolla driven by a 55-year-old man, after which he collided with an oncoming Ford Mondeo and an oncoming Nissan Note.

The driver of the Toyota died on the spot. His two passengers, a man and a woman, were hospitalized with various injuries. The driver of Nissan Qashqai and his female passenger are also hospitalized, writes Ura.ru news agency.

The traffic police note that all participants in the accident were wearing seat belts. The circumstances of the fatal car crash are being established.
