Su-34 fighter jet crew strikes AFU position in Kursk border area

The crew of a Su-34 supersonic multirole fighter-bomber of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) has struck a strike against the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in a border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 29.
The agency published footage of the combat operation. They show the takeoff of the fighter jet and strikes by aerial bombs with the universal planning and correction module (UMPK) on reconnaissance targets.
The crew received confirmation from the reconnaissance of the destruction of enemy personnel and a stronghold and returned safely to the airfield of departure.
Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry reported that Su-35 multi-purpose super-maneuverable fighter jets with controlled thrust vectoring provided cover for VKS crews in the region's border areas. In addition, with the help of a set of aviation weapons, the aircraft performed detection of air defense (air defense) objects of the AFU.
The Ukrainian military attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory are being liquidated. Since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk direction, the AFU has lost more than 45,220 servicemen.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
