One tourist was killed and another injured in a shark attack at a resort in Marsa Alam in Egypt. This was reported on December 29 by Reuters with reference to the Ministry of Environment of Egypt.
Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad, in turn, ordered to ban swimming in the area where the incident occurred.
Consul General of Russia in Hurghada Viktor Voropaev said that there were no Russians among the victims of the shark attack. The victims of the predator, according to him, are tourists from Italy, he told "RIA Novosti".
Earlier, on September 17, it was reported about the death of a 30-year-old tourist from Germany in a shark attack in the Canary Islands.
