You should eat sweets on holidays, limiting yourself to two or three a day. This was told to "Moscow 24" on December 29 by nutritionist, nutritionist Evgeny Arzamastsev.

"On holidays, adults and children can eat up to two or three candies a day. This will not greatly affect the metabolism. It is better to consume them only if you have a great desire. If candies are lying around, but the desire to eat them is small, you should not go about psychological habits, "- he recommended.

According to the expert, the less a person eats sweets, the better. He emphasized that sweets do not contain useful elements and consist of sugar, with the addition of walnuts at most. In turn, sugar is a simple carbohydrate and has a high glycemic index. This means it digests quickly and is more likely to go into fat.

With the constant consumption of candy, continued the nutritionist, can develop first insulin resistance, then fasting hyperglycemia, and then, in the presence of other conditions and diabetes mellitus.
