Kirienko urged to prepare for the fastest possible launch of six ZNPP units

The first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, Sergey Kiriyenko, has said that it is already necessary to prepare for the fastest possible launch of all six units of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZNPP) as soon as the situation allows. This was reported by the press service of the NPP in Telegram-channel on December 29.
"Now all six units of ZNPP are in the state of "cold shutdown". It is important to carry out all the necessary set of works in order to obtain a license to operate unit No. 1 in accordance with the requirements of the Russian legislation," the message reads.
Kirienko added that the main task for 2025 is to ensure the safety of the NPP, as well as to prepare the units for the generation mode.
On December 10, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Russian military had ensured the safe conduct of the next rotation of IAEA mission observers at ZNPP.
Earlier, on December 20, the 330 kV high-voltage power supply line "Ferrosplavnaya-1" was shut down at ZNPP by the action of automation. It is noted that the radiation level at ZNPP and adjacent territories did not change and still corresponds to the normal operation of power units.
Zaporizhzhya region, on the territory of which the nuclear power plant is located, became part of the Russian Federation as a result of a referendum in September 2022. Since that time, Zaporizhzhya NPP has been under constant IAEA control.
