TheU.S. wants to increase diplomatic presence in Minsk. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on December 29.

"We have practically no Americans. But keep in mind: they've been asking us for a year to increase the staff at the embassy," Lukashenko told journalist Pavel Zarubin of the VGTRK TV channel. The video is published in his Telegram channel.

The President added that he's not worried about the recommendations of the U.S. authorities, who urged their citizens to leave Belarus.

Earlier, December 23, the U.S. State Department recommended U.S. citizens to immediately leave Belarus. The department assigned the country the fourth, red, rank, urging not to visit the country.
