Russian Armed Forces liberate the village of Novotroitskoye in the DNR

As a result of offensive actions, units of the Center group of troops have liberated the settlement of Novotroitskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 29.

"The units of the troops grouping "Center" as a result of successful offensive actions released the settlement of Novotroitskoye of the Donetsk People's Republic", - noted in the message.

Also, the Russian military hit the living force and equipment of three mechanized, motorized infantry brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the AFU, a brigade of marines, a brigade of tera defense and an assault brigade of the Ukrainian National Police in the areas of the settlements of Zarya, Vozdvizhenka, Krasnoarmeysk, Dzerzhinsk, Shevchenko, Dachenskoye, Peschanoye and Novoolenovka in the DNR.

In addition, the Russian army repelled 11 counterattacks by Ukrainian militants in the same direction.

The losses on the part of the AFU amounted to 480 Ukrainian soldiers, three BMPs, five armored combat vehicles, five pickup trucks and a Polish self-propelled artillery unit Krab, a D-20 gun, Msta-B and D-30 howitzers.

Earlier, on December 27, Russian servicemen liberated the settlements of Ivanovka in the DNR and Lozovaya, as well as Zagryzovo in Kharkiv Region. In their area of responsibility, Zapad units also defeated the manpower and equipment of four mechanized, assault, airmobile, airborne brigades of the AFU and two territorial defense brigades between December 21 and 27, repelling 25 counterattacks by assault groups of Ukrainian militants.

Also in the period from December 20, the AFU took control of Uspenovka, Novopustynka, and Krasnoye, which are in the DNR, and the settlements of Ostrovsky and Storozhevoye in the DNR were liberated. On December 25, Novy Trud was liberated, and the next day the settlement of Gigant was liberated. Both are on the territory of the DNR.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
