The legendary Vityaz unit celebrated its 47th anniversary
The formation day of the Order of Kutuzov Red Banner Special Forces Center "Vityaz" of the National Guard of the Russian Federation is traditionally celebrated on December 29. The unit has existed since 1977. This year it turned 47 years old. This was reported on December 29 in the press service of the Rosgvardia.
"Vityaz" - the ancestor of the special forces of law enforcement forces - is a model of dedication, cohesion and determination on the way to achieving the goal", - noted in the department.
Rosgvardia representatives noted that throughout the history of its existence "Knights" have consistently confirmed their leadership, remaining the first among equals in the professional community of special forces.
The special forces group ensured law and order during the settlement of interethnic conflicts in the former Soviet Union, participated in the liquidation of illegal armed groups in the North Caucasus region, and now conducts active combat operations in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone. They show courage and bravery in battles with opponents and leave no doubt that they will achieve the goals set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian army, the agency said.
In 2017, by the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the CSN Vityaz was awarded the Order of Kutuzov for feats and distinction in counter-terrorist operations and courage and selflessness shown by its personnel. Moreover, 16 "Vityaz" became Heroes of Russia, nine of them - posthumously.
Earlier, on December 27, Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, congratulated servicemen on Marine Corps Day. In his congratulatory speech, the admiral noted that the history of the Marine Corps is inextricably linked with significant accomplishments for the benefit of the motherland. The Admiral emphasized the high level of the Marine Corps' skills during a special military operation (SMO).
