The bodies of two people killed in a plane crash near Kazakhstan's Aktau have been sent to Chechnya for burial. This was announced by the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov in his Telegram channel on December 28.

"The bodies of two citizens of the Chechen Republic - Arbi Ubayev and Zaira Atsayeva, who died in the recent airplane crash in the city of Aktau, have been handed over to their families. At the moment their relatives are taking them home for burial," Kadyrov said.

He also noted that the regional public fund named after Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov had taken care of all transportation costs. Moreover, the Chechen leader emphasized that the fund would pay additional financial aid to the families of the victims upon their return home.

In addition, Kadyrov specified that there were eight residents of the region on board the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) airliner. Six of them are currently being treated in Moscow hospitals. They are under constant medical supervision, the authorities of the Republic keep the situation under control, as well as assisting specialized agencies of Kazakhstan in the investigation of the crash.

Earlier, December 28, it became known that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev told about the creation of an international group of experts to investigate the accident near Aktau. At the moment, the group of experts began work.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Aliyev discussed issues related to the crash of the airliner. They noted that the airplane, which was flying on schedule, tried several times to land at Grozny airport. At that time Grozny, Mozdok and Vladikavkaz were under attack by Ukrainian drones, and the Russian air defense system was repelling these attacks.

An AZAL Airlines passenger plane traveling on the Baku-Grozny route crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25. The Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan called the preliminary cause of the crash outside interference. After the incident, a criminal case was initiated. According to the airline's list, 62 passengers and five crew members were on board. A total of 38 bodies were found at the crash site.

Seven Russians died in the airplane crash, nine citizens of the Russian Federation survived. Later, a special airplane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry delivered them to Moscow. Of the crew, three people survived.

After the crash, AZAL suspended flights from Baku to Grozny and Makhachkala until the investigation is completed. Later the company decided to suspend flights to Sochi, Volgograd, Ufa, Samara and Mineralnye Vody from December 28.

On December 27, representatives of the Embraer manufacturer arrived in Aktau to take part in the investigation of the crash of their company's plane. Employees of Brazil's Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Aviation Accidents (CENIPA) are also expected to arrive in the coming days.
