About 600 conflict situations with predatory animals were recorded on the territory of Primorsky Krai in 2024. Seven animals were withdrawn from the wild, PrimaMedia news agency was informed by the press service of the regional Ministry of Forestry, Environmental Protection, Wildlife and Natural Resources.

A total of 584 conflict situations between man and predator have occurred this year, 265 of them related to tigers. Hunting supervisors had to remove four Amur tigers and three bears from the wild.

Currently, five permits are in force for the capture of conflict Amur tigers in Khasansky District, where six cases of the striped tiger coming out to people were recorded near the village of Primorsky in 2024. The predators are trying to capture by the specialists of Gosokhotnadzor with the support of inspectors of the National Park "Land of the Leopard", who have formed two task forces.

The Ministry of Forestry explains that in December, social networks published more frequent publications about human and tiger encounters in the south of the region. The settlements of Primorsky, Andreevka, Barabash and Filippovka are of concern. At the same time, it is assumed that 58 individuals of the Amur tiger and 129 individuals of the Far Eastern leopard live in the territory of the National Park "Land of the Leopard" in Khasansky District and Nadezhdinsky District.

Any predator's approach to people or settlements, including normal visual contact, is considered a conflict situation.

On December 26, the Amur Tiger Center reported that rare Far Eastern leopards, according to preliminary data, attacked dogs in three villages in Primorye. A day before that, it became known about an accident involving a tiger in the Khasansky district - it was hit by a Toyota SUV, but the predator survived the collision and fled into the forest. Later, it was found using a quadrocopter; apparently, the animal was not significantly injured.
