Explosion hits apartment building in northwestern Turkey

An explosion occurred in a residential building in Kocaeli province in northwestern Turkey, a fire broke out at the site, there are wounded. This was reported by the newspaper Türkiye on December 28.

It is specified that the emergency occurred in the district of Darıca. Footage from the scene of the explosion shows the work of rescuers, ambulances are on duty near the building.

"As a result of the explosion, which was allegedly caused by <leakage> of natural gas, 10 people were injured," the publication writes.

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals after receiving first aid. The fire was extinguished, but some apartments were damaged. The work of brigades at the scene continues.

Earlier, December 24, it was reported about the explosion at the plant for the production of explosives in the Turkish city of Balikesir. As a result of the emergency killed 12 people, three were injured. It was also reported that a large number of fire engines were sent to the scene of the explosion to extinguish the fire.
