Sweden has begun searching for additional cemetery sites in case of hostilities

Funeral associations in Sweden have started looking for cemetery grounds in case of a possible war. The Associated Press (AP) reported Dec. 28.
"Funeral associations in Sweden are seeking enough land for something they hope they will never have to do: bury thousands of people in the event of war," the publication said.
According to the agency, the search is being conducted on the recommendations of the Church of Sweden, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and the Swedish Armed Forces. Thus, the search for land for the cemetery is related to the country's preparedness for a crisis situation.
Gothenburg Funeral Association, which operates in the second largest city in Sweden, is currently trying to solve the problem of acquiring at least 40 thousand square meters of land to provide emergency burial of coffins for about 30 thousand dead in the event of hostilities.
Earlier, on December 26, it became known that a member of the Swedish Parliament Rikard Nordin raised the possibility of using caverns - stone shelters - to protect the country's infrastructure from Russia's "actions".
The West regularly stirs up hysteria among the citizens of its countries, warning of an allegedly possible imminent war with Russia. Western European media and experts refer to the successes of Russia's military in Ukraine and prophesize that the country will "go on to conquer the whole world" in the future. Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said that the country is not going to go to war with NATO.
