On December 28, Tatyana Moskalkova, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, fulfilled the dream of nine-year-old Sofya within the framework of the "Wish Tree" campaign. The girl was given a bicycle.

"Dear Sonechka, dear mother of Sonechka - Yulia Andreyevna, we would like to give you today the gift you dreamed of," she addressed the girl and her mother via video link.

The federal ombudsman also left Sofya her wishes for the New Year.

"That all your dreams come true. And first of all, Sonechka, I want to wish you health. Mom, your whole family and we, of course, <...> are very concerned about your health and want you to always be happy, healthy and joyful," she wished.

Earlier in the day, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin visited the Soyuzmultfilm studio together with children who participated in the "Christmas Tree of Wishes" campaign. Young visitors were shown the process and technology of creating various cartoons.

The "Wishing Tree" charity event is a project of the Russian "Movement of the First" with the support of Rosmolodezh, which has been taking place since 2018 and lasts from mid-November to the end of February. Thanks to the campaign, children aged 3-17 who find themselves in a difficult life situation get the opportunity to fulfill a cherished wish or receive a gift for the New Year. In 2023, the Wishing Tree started on November 15 and runs until February 28, 2024.
