Among Russians who like to travel alone, the popularity of domestic travel has grown: the share of Russia increased by 15% compared to last year and amounted to 55%. This is reported in the study of travel planning service OneTwoTrip, which was reviewed by Izvestia on January 1.

According to analysts, Russians who prefer to travel alone, most often stay in apartments, guest houses and other places without stars - such options account for 31.0% of total bookings. The average price per night is RUB 6 thousand, with the minimum booking period being 1-3 days (58.0%).

Solo travelers mainly vacation in Moscow (26.0%) and St. Petersburg (20.5%), and the interest to both capitals has grown - by 30% and 19% respectively. The third line was taken by Sochi: 6.1% of Russians spend their vacations there, which is 30% less than for winter vacations in 2024.

In addition, Kazan (4.1%), Yekaterinburg (2.9%), Kaliningrad (2.7%), Nizhny Novgorod (2.6%), Tyumen (2.2%), Esto-Sadok (2.0%) and Novosibirsk (1.4%) are popular for solo vacations. Last year solo travelers did not go to Tyumen, which came straight to the eighth place of the list during the January vacation-2025. Interest in Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk tripled, Kazan increased by 32% and Kaliningrad by 29%. But 2-two times fewer travelers will go skiing and rest in Esto-Sadok.

Specialists noted that in other countries, Russians who prefer to travel alone, most often choose four-star hotels (32.0% of orders), and go there for a period of 4 to 7 days (43%). The average cost of a room on holidays is 12 thousand rubles per day.

The most popular city for solo trips during the vacations was Istanbul - it was chosen by 6.2% of travelers, which is 7% more than a year ago. Budapest came in second place with a share of 5.5%, which was not in the top ten a year ago. The third line is occupied by Bangkok: the Thai capital accounts for 3.4% of orders (42% more than at the beginning of 2024).
