Sharm el-Sheikh-Moscow flight emergency grounded in Cairo due to unconscious man

The Sharm el-Sheikh - Moscow airplane made an emergency landing in Cairo because of a fainted passenger on board. This was reported on December 28 by the director of the branch of "EUROINS Tourist Insurance" Yulia Alcheeva.

"Our service center received an appeal from an airline employee that a tourist lost consciousness during the flight. The plane made an emergency landing in Cairo, where the man was hospitalized," she told Interfax.

According to Alcheeva, the man was returning to Russia from a vacation in Egypt with his wife and child.

She said that the Russian man underwent a CT scan of the brain, after which an intracerebral hemorrhage was diagnosed. According to her information, the approximate terms of hospitalization will be 48 hours.

The man is being treated at a hospital in Cairo. Upon completion of treatment, the Russian and his family will return to Russia.

Earlier, on December 10, it was reported about the forced landing at a distance of about a kilometer from the landing site Tambey in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District of the An-2 aircraft of the company "Mobil Avia". Rosaviatsia classified the incident as an accident. There were no casualties.
