- In Norway, for the first time in 20 years, a police officer has been killed in a shootout

In Norway, a police officer and the alleged instigator of the shooting died in a shootout, and one police officer was injured. This was reported by the publication Barrons on December 28.
"The mission last night had the worst possible outcome. Two people were killed and the police lost a dear colleague," the agency quotes police commissioner Marie Benedikt Bjørnland as saying.
She also noted that such an outcome is the most tragic thing about police work.
According to the agency, fatal shootings in Norway with the death of police officers are extremely rare. The last time a police officer was shot dead in the line of duty was in 2004.
Earlier, on October 13, in the US state of Connecticut there was a shooting in which two policemen were killed and another seriously wounded.
