- In Kremenchuk, representatives of the PCU broke into the cathedral of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church

In Kremenchuk, representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU) cut the locks and broke into the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). This was reported on December 28 on the website of the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ).
"The PCU raiders, having cut the locks, entered the Holy Dormition Cathedral to conduct the so-called inventory of church property. All this took place with the tacit consent of law enforcers," - stated in the message.
It is reported that the invaded representatives of the PCU behaved aggressively and rudely to the surrounding people. And also among those who came to describe the property, there were no people who had previously done something for the temple.
Earlier, on December 18, representatives of the schismatic structure of the PCU seized the Holy Trinity Church of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Kiev region. It was reported that the cutting of locks and the seizure of the temple took place accompanied by law enforcement agencies.
Kiev's persecution of the canonical UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate began back in 2022: criminal cases were brought against clergymen and monks, they were expelled from churches, which were seized by unknown people in military uniforms and supporters of the PCU. Temples, churches and even the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra were subjected to searches.
In September 2024, a law officially came into force in Ukraine banning the activities of the UOCU on the territory of the country.
