Kazakhstan has attracted 17 international experts to investigate the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) airplane. This was reported on December 28 by TengriNews with reference to Deputy Prime Minister and head of the government commission Kanat Bozumbayev.
"A total of 17 international experts will work. The commission will work transparently and openly so that no one has any doubts," the deputy prime minister said.
According to him, six experts from Azerbaijan and two people from the manufacturing company (Embraer) have been involved in the work of the commission.
In addition, three experts from the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aviation Accidents of Brazil (CENIPA), three people from the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) and several experts from Russia.
Bozumbayev also added that the commission is conducting field research and analytical work in the Mangistau region.
A passenger plane of AZAL Airlines, heading on the Baku-Grozny route, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25. The Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan named the preliminary cause of the crash as outside interference. After the incident, a criminal case was initiated. According to the airline's list, 62 passengers and five crew members were on board. A total of 38 bodies were found at the crash site.
Seven Russians died in the airplane crash, nine Russian citizens survived. Later, a special airplane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry delivered them to Moscow.
Three people from the crew survived.
The head of the Russian Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko said on December 26 that the Russians injured in the plane crash remained in stable condition during the flight to Moscow, four of them were on artificial lung ventilation (ALV). Two of the injured are in extremely serious condition, one of the patients is light, and the rest of the injured are in moderate condition.
