Erdogan urged Turkish citizens to boycott overpriced goods

Turkish President Recep Erdogan during his speech in Bursa called on citizens to boycott overpriced goods and services. This was reported by Turkish newspaper Star on December 28.
"The priority of our program is to reduce inflation. Because, as in all parts of the world, inflation is the mother of all evils in our country. The most effective method for our people is to boycott goods and services, the prices of which are rising at a triple-digit rate," the newspaper reported Erdogan's words.
According to the Turkish leader, the main goal of the program is to quickly compensate for the losses suffered by the country due to the imbalance of the exchange rate and inflation.
Earlier, on December 26, the Turkish Central Bank announced the reduction of the discount rate from 50 to 47.5%. It is specified that the key rate went down for the first time in two years.
