A magnitude 4.2 earthquake has struck Georgia


An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 occurred near the city of Dmanisi in the south-east of Georgia. This was reported on Saturday, December 28, on the website of the national seismic monitoring center of the country.
According to the institution, the earthquake with epicenter at a depth of 15 km was recorded at 15:44 local time (14:44 Moscow time).
This area is located at a distance of 2 km from the village of Sogulotlo, 14 km from Dmanisi and 58 km from Tbilisi.
Earlier, on June 17, four earthquakes with magnitudes from 3.3 to 4.7 occurred in Georgia in one day. They were recorded in the Racha-Lechkhumi region.
