During the festive season, many Russians take part-time jobs. Demand for staff in certain areas, for example in retail and delivery, increases greatly, so companies are prepared to offer increased remuneration for work or bonuses. However, customer fraud is also on the rise during this period. Anna Larionova, marketing director of Ventra Go! digital platform for flexible employment, told Izvestia on December 30 how not to fall for the tricks of con artists during the New Year holidays.

According to her, often fake offers of part-time work are made in messengers, and often scammers use the name of a well-known brand or promise to pay much higher than market earnings for short-term employment. That's why you should look for a part-time job on trusted sites - most safely through employment centers, job boards, freelance exchanges and digital platforms. In addition, options can be found in social networks and messengers, but you need to pay attention to the reliability of the account: if they send a picture with an advertisement of earnings in personal messages, it is a characteristic sign of spam.

At the same time, before agreeing to a part-time job, you need to carefully check the customer. The easiest way to do this is through portals for checking contractors. The expert recommended paying attention to several factors. First, you should take into account the duration of the company's activity. The longer the business exists on the market, the higher the probability that it works stably and within the law.

In addition, it is worth finding out about the number of staff. You should be wary if the company officially employs only a few people. Most likely, the company does not formalize employees in the staff, avoiding tax liabilities, added Larionova.

You should also pay attention to the company's reviews.

At the same time, it is important to check debts to the budget. Debts appear when the company does not pay taxes. It is better to approach cooperation with such a customer with caution, emphasized the specialist.

It is necessary to look at the presence of court cases and enforcement proceedings. If the company has a lot of pending litigation or there are processes for debt collection, it is better to refrain from cooperation, the expert recommended.

To understand whether the customer does not underestimate the payment, you need to study the average cost in the market: on the bulletin boards of job search sites, platforms for freelancers.

"After checking the customer, it is necessary to formalize cooperation by signing a physical or electronic contract or concluding an offer on the platform. You should not take up a part-time job without any agreement because the customer may end up not making payment and go unpunished," she said.

When signing a contract, it is necessary to check not only the amount of payment, but also the details of the terms of work. It is important that the document should spell out: the composition of the work, terms and place of their fulfillment, as well as provisions for penalties, so that you know what you may not be paid for.

"In addition, you need to specify the place of dispute resolution. For example, if the contract provides for dispute resolution in another city, you will potentially need to appear in courts there. Pay attention also to what documents you need to provide at the end of cooperation, for example, acts and checks. Often before the New Year, employees are offered bonuses - check all the conditions of their receipt. As in any other promotions, there may be restrictions," - concluded Larionova.

Earlier, on December 24, it was reported that in Russia 29% of respondents called the main successful event over the past year a salary increase. This is stated in the results of a survey of analysts of the platform hh.ru. In second place among the positive events was a new job (28%). Every fourth respondent (25%) managed to go on vacation and have a good rest.
